Can’t we just jump in a time machine, and move in fast and forward to retirement age today?
Jimmy Buffett, the American singer has just made an announcement that he’s opening a retirement communities chain called ‘what else’?
—Latitude Margaritaville. And to be honest, this the best idea you can think of, how else will you be able to pay yourself back after all of these years of hard work, if you’re not laying on a beach with your toes in the sand and a margarita in hand?
The new Margaritaville website says the following, “you always had that happy place in your head, the adventurous spirit in your soul, it is that state of mind when it all comes together in on of the perfect moments of one’s life. Why not follow this paradise, when your mind keeps wandering about it?”
The first resort will be located in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is available only for people who are 55 or older. It will be located on the beach, and it will have every amenity you would expect in a Parrot Head paradise. Check out the developer’s pictures below for a taste of the good life.
As you can see from the bird’s eye view of the location, almost all those houses have a view of the ocean from their own backyard.
Even the main complex looks like a beach bum’s paradise.
Oceanside sunset dinners? Don’t mind if we do!
Perhaps a casual game of corn hole to liven things up?
And the houses themselves are exactly what you’d expect from Mr. Buffett.
One press release claims that prices will range from $200,000 to $350,000. The model pictured is the Daytona Beach Breeze (what a name!).
Surely you’ll be able to decorate it however you like, but in keeping with the theme of the resort, consider laying out your spacious new home like this.
As you can see, the kitchens are fully stocked for anything you might need — although we can’t confirm a frozen drink blender comes with each house. But you’ll definitely want to invest in one.
Some of the homes even come with their own pool, in case expansive beaches aren’t to your liking.
Although the private watering holes aren’t nearly as impressive as this public, tropical-themed pool.
And if this artist’s rendering is any indication, the beach by the community center is going to rival most Mexican resorts.
As if all that isn’t enough…
Looks like Parrot Heads will be enjoying performances by the man himself.
Honestly, cheers to all of this.
Not a bad idea to spend your golden years, huh?
Restaurants, concerts, a bunch of attractive 60-somethings for neighbors who are always down for a happy hour on the beach? (It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, after all.) Jimmy Buffett and retirement life are a match made in margarita heaven!
